The Regional Studies Center (RSC) convened its latest analytical briefing on 18 January, with a timely assessment of the Azerbaijani-imposed siege of Nagorno Karabakh, an analysis of the state of diplomacy between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the outlook for Armenia-Turkey “normalization,” and the broader issues of Armenian-Russian relations and Western (EU and US) engagement in the region.

The Regional Studies Center (RSC) convened the latest monthly analytical briefing on 6 December 2022, with a timely assessment by RSC Director Richard Giragosian focusing on the state of diplomacy between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the outlook for Armenia-Turkey “normalization,” and the broader issues of Armenian-Russian relations (especially after the CSTO summit in Yerevan) and Western (EU and US) engagement in the region.

In a much-needed return to diplomacy, Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met in Sochi on 26 November for an important “mini-summit” convened by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

As an independent “think tank,” the Regional Studies Center (RSC) offers a regular monthly series of online “Closed Briefings” to provide a concise analytical presentation of the most significant political, economic and military/security developments in Armenia and the broader South Caucasus region.  And as the target audience is the diplomatic community and international organizations in Armenia, our aim is to provide an alternative source of objective analysis and information on a regular basis.
