RSC Director Richard Giragosian participated in France24’s “The Debate” program on 4 May, which featured a discussion, “Poking the bear? Armenia welcomes European leaders in Russia's backyard.”  The show offered an insightful assessment of the first-ever gathering of EU leaders in Yerevan for a summit meeting of the European Political Community (EPC) and followed by an inaugural Armenia-EU summit.

In a live interview with Poland’s TVP World news, host Diana Skaya spoke with RSC Director Richard Giragosian on 26 April in a segment entitled, “Armenia between Russia, EU and war.”  The “TVP World Talks” program assessed Armenia’s position “at a political crossroads,” where “on one hand, Russia is openly hostile toward the European Union’s monitoring mission in the region and shows no intention of relinquishing its traditional sphere of influence. On the other, the country is gaining significant importance for Brussels, which is stepping up support for Armenia on security and democracy issues.

RSC ANALYTICAL BRIEFING: ASSESSING DEVELOPMENTS IN ARMENIA AND REGIONAL ISSUES IN THE SOUTH CAUCASUS

The Regional Studies Center (RSC) held its monthly analytical briefing assessing developments in Armenia and the South Caucasus region on 20 February 2026.  This analytical briefing featured an assessment of the recent visit of U.S. Vice President JD Vance to Armenia and Azerbaijan, and a review of ongoing diplomatic engagement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the outlook for Armenia-Türkiye “normalization.”  And given Armenia’s coming parliamentary election in June 2026, the briefing also focused on the domestic political situation in the country.
