RSC ASSESSES ROLE OF DIASPORA IN US-ARMENIA RELATIONS

RSC Research Fellow Asya Gasparyan authored an insightful assessment for the Germany-based “Caucasus Watch” website entitled, “From Los Angeles to Capitol Hill: The Diaspora’s Role in U.S.–Armenia Relations.”  Published on 2 November 2025, Gasparyan’s article highlights the fact that “Armenian-American lobbying has become a decisive force in U.S.–Armenia relations since 2018” and notes that “for U.S. policymakers, listening to the diaspora is not optional; its networks in swing states make it a decisive actor in shaping American engagement in the South Caucasus.”

RSC INTERVIEW ON REGIONAL CONNECTIVITY

In an interview with Astghik Sargsyan for Armenian Public Radio’s Voice of Yerevan program, RSC Director Richard Giragosian assessed the broader impact of the August agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan on reopening borders, restoring infrastructure, and linking Armenia to regional transit routes.  Aired on 31 October, the program, entitled “South Caucasus Reconnected: Peace, Power & Global Interests,” also included a discussion of domestic developments in Armenia, including the ongoing confrontation with the head of the Armenian Church.
