The Regional Studies Center (RSC) convened its latest analytical briefing on 18 January, with a timely assessment of the Azerbaijani-imposed siege of Nagorno Karabakh, an analysis of the state of diplomacy between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the outlook for Armenia-Turkey “normalization,” and the broader issues of Armenian-Russian relations and Western (EU and US) engagement in the region.

As an independent “think tank” in Armenia, the Regional Studies Center (RSC) regularly published analytical articles dealing with a wide range if issues related to Armenia and the South Caucasus region.

On Sunday, 8 January, RSC Director Richard Giragosian returned as a guest on the weekly “Sunday Analyst with Hrayr Tamrazian” news program for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s (RFE/RL) Armenian Service Radio Azatutyun.

Joining host Daniel Ofman, RSC Director Richard Giragosian offered comments and expressed concern over Azerbaijan’s siege of Nagorno Karabakh, in a report for “The World” public radio news program.

As part of an executive course for mid-level officers, RSC Director Richard Giragosian was invited to the NATO Defense College in Rome to present an “assessment of risks and challenges in the South Caucasus.”  On 20 December 2022, Giragosian joined Zaur Shiriyev, an analyst from the International Crisis Group (ICG), in an initial plenary session that was followed by separate breakout sessions with the class.
